Here’s the absolute “SECRET” to making money as a portrait photographer.
The matter of the fact is this: anybody can take good photos. Literally anybody. You can learn allllll the trick of the camera on YouTube. Every single one. So if you take good photos, that’s it? Right? no
Why would somebody book YOU instead of that other photographer who also takes really good photos?

THE EXPERIENCE
As a portrait photographer, you are providing a service. Just like hairstylists, just like waitresses, just like literally any job that has to do with hoping people enjoy what you’re offering and come back.
Why does one restaurant do better than the other? Or one stylist get booked more than the other in the salon?

It’s because they provided their customer with not only what they were after - they also made the experience enjoyable, memorable, and FUN.
The same applies to photography. Get to know your client, care about your client. Ask them questions, authentic questions that you genuinely want to know the answer to. Find out what they like, don’t like, and make the process EASY for them.
Literally anybody - and i mean ANYBODY can be a good photographer if they give good old google enough time.

But not everybody creates an environment on set that provides their client with a one-of-a-kind experience showcasing compassion, ease, and fun 💃🏼
When you go above and beyond to streamline things for your clients, make it fun, remove all tension, talk to them, and care about them, they will *always* come back to you when they need a photographer. I promise.
