most threads discussing "how not to write mlm/wlw characters" are made by teens, and a lot of them have really narrow-minded opinions and sex-negative connotations

your urge to distance all lgbt-related things from sexuality is Odd, and often rooted in internalized lgbtphobia
not everything related to lgbt people needs to be sexualised, but our sexuality shouldn't be erased from the narrative, nor should it be stigmatized or made into a taboo.
we fought for decades against it, and no teen online with no knowledge of the history of their own community will forced me into thinking it's okay to frame mlm/wlw sexuality as something we should only discuss among each other in secret
i hate threads that are written as a guidebook for writing wlw/mlm characters in general. your personal taste for lgbt fiction cannot dictate what content can and cannot exist.

i saw a thread saying coming out stories & stories based on our struggles cannot exist? this is Insane
i didn't expect this to get any attention, but i'm glad i got to hear so many opinions 🥺 and sorry for the typos!

also, i'm a nb writer who's unemployed because of the pandemic, so if you can & want to drop me a few bucks, i would appreciate it sm 💕 https://ko-fi.com/dykehawks
