The Joint Council on Closing the Gap has met, with each jurisdiction providing updates about the establishment and strengthening of partnership arrangements between govts, the @coalition_peaks and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partners 1/4 https://bit.ly/32RtYgS
The Council also agreed a Strategic Plan for Funding the Development of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled sector - to guide investment from the joint funding pool committed by governments to support Priority Reform Two of the National Agreement 2/4
Consistent with the National Agreement, funding will initially be invested in the early childhood care and development, housing, health and disability sectors 3/4
Governments have made the following contributions to a joint funding pool strengthen the ACCO sector across 4 years:
Commonwealth: $46.5m
Vic: $3.3m
Qld: $9.3m
ACT: $0.8m
NSW: $7.4m
Tas: $1.2m
SA: $3.3m
NT $2m
