1/ @GOP are political elites. @TheDemocrats are political elites. Elite warfare is not new in the US. It must be resolved as it was in 1800 with the 12th Amendment.
2/ @GOP is pursuing a political agenda to (a) suppress the vote; (b) delegitimize voters; (c) intimate govt officials.
3/ Elite behavior, conflict or cooperation, exists on a lattice of unknown, but knowable dimensions. As w/ many complex behaviors on a lattice in Z^d, the rules governing elite behavior often simple, such that they can be explained to a small child or a clever dog.
4/ Contracts, such as The Constitution, are meant to constrain elite conflict and contain political behavior to nonviolent forms of engagement and participation. Yet in politics and economics, contacts can be both formal & informal. See, B. Salamé, The Economics of Contracts.
