A pioneer of the genre and my personal Trap goat.

T.I. Discography ranked with rating and short review.

Only studio albums are included
11. I’m Serious

This is TI’s debut album and it sounds very polished for a debut. Tip shows off his storytelling on here, he details how he got in the drug game and regrets from his early life. Another track he tells a story about a near death experience, and talking to god.
While this has a lot of gems, it has flaws. The production hasn’t aged very well and it seems like he’s going for a club hit at many times. Each song on here sounds more and more similar to the last

Favorite Tracks: What Happened?, Dope Boyz & Grand Royal

5.5/10
10. Paperwork

I have very mixed opinions on this album. On the one hand it has some beautiful tracks, and some hard hitting bangers but Tip’s subject matter throughout the majority of the album is very surface level and there isn’t very much diversity in the sound.
There is bad features all across this album from Iggy Azalea to Boosie Badazz. While this album has its fair share highlights there is far too many forgettable tracks.

Favorite Tracks: About The Money, Light Em Up, Let Your Heart Go

6/10
9. T.I vs. T.I.P

T.I vs. T.I.P is a very loose concept of TI’s inner conflict. The wild side of himself (T.I.P) that has got him to where he is and the business oriented, professional side (T.I). These two sides clash on the song “The Confrontation”
The first thing you’ll notice is TI’s flow, he’s bringing out fast paced, fiery flows. However this isn’t perfect and the concept wasn’t executed very well, as only a few songs contribute to it

Favorite Tracks: Touchdown, Tell Em I Said That, & Respect This Hustle

7/10
8. The L.I.B.R.A

The L.I.B.R.A. is Tips most recent album and it’s a very mature, polished album. TI discusses what’s going on in the world and more. As is the pattern with his newer albums, the feature list is stacked and most of them come through.
Each hook on here is more catchy than the last making for an extremely fun listen. Something I don’t like is TI sounds to be trying to adapt to the times too much on songs such as On The Hood and Hit Dogs Holla.

Favorite Tracks: Thank God, Make Amends & Ring

8/10
7. No Mercy

No Mercy has an all star cast surrounding it, production from Kanye West, The Neptunes, Jake Love and more. Features from Kid Cudi, Eminem, Scarface, Kanye, Drake, The Dream, Pharrell. It would’ve been hard for this album to not turn out to be a good project.
My problem with this album is the subject matter. Each track after the next seems to be more vapid, straying away from what makes TI stand out. The songs where TI goes deeper are by far the best tracks.

Favorite Tracks: Castle Walls, How Life Changed, Welcome To The World

8/10
6. Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head

Trouble Man has a run time of 71 minutes and it’s able to hold my attention and entertain all throughout. You’ve got everything on this album from bangers, club hits, introspective cuts, there’s fantastic features and beats all throughout.
This album is at it’s best when T.I. is just rapping. This consists of some of his best verses as he talks about prison, fatherhood, relationships and more. Funny skits throughout help connect the messages in each song.

Favorite Songs: Wild Side, Sorry and Wonderful Life

8.5/10
5. King

King feels like a victory lap to T.I., on his past works success and moving up in life. There are plenty of tracks on here that have that personal and emotional flare that are a signature of TI’s work. But while this album has great moments, it’s not perfect.
This came out in the bling era and it sounds like it, some production sounds dated and TI is going for a club banger a couple times in here instead of what he does best. On a side note Live In The Sky is top 3 TI.

Favorite Tracks: Live In The Sky, Goodlife & Told You So

8.5/10
4. Dime Trap

Dime Trap is TI’s most slept on album in my opinion, Tip delivers a mature, beautiful album that cements his legacy. There are perfectly placed features all throughout its 60 minute run time. He tackles a wide array of subject matter on this project.
Tip sounds comfortable as he ever has, floating on every beat he raps over and effortlessly weaving intricate lyricism. Dime Trap is everything that you want from an album from a veteran in the rap game.

Favorite Tracks: Laugh At Em, The Weekend, At least I Know

9/10
3. Paper Trail

Quite possibly the most commercially successful trap album oat. Containing songs like Whatever You Like and Live Your Life, T.I was on top of the world when this album dropped and it has deeper cuts that are just as high or higher quality
Vulnerable moments where TI talks about Prison, life in the trap and friends he lost really help connect the listener to TI and will make anyone emotional from just hearing the pain in his voice.

Favorite Songs: Dead and Gone, You Ain’t Missin Nothing, & No Matter What

9/10
2. Urban Legend

TI dropped urban legend after a brief stint in prison and to say he came back with a bang would be an understatement. This album contains the most high energy bangers of any album from Tip. But it still has lowkey personal/emotional moments.
Considering this came out in the bling era Urban Legend has aged very well. The Production sounds as good as the day it came out and every TI verse on here seems to hit harder than the last.

Favorite Tracks: Prayin For Help, Motivation, & Countdown

9.5/10
1. Trap Muzik

My favorite trap album and often revered as the best trap album oat and for good reason. The production all throughout this is top tier and TI rapping about the turmoil of the life he lived both make for a fantastic listen.
T.I is very personal on this album as he raps about fatherhood, and wanting his kids to make better decisions than him. This album is laced with paranoia he feels from the environment he was in.

Favorite Songs: Doin My Job, Be Better Than Me, & Let Me Tell You Something
