Holy crap I diagnosed a zebra in one of our patients and now we’re starting to receive confirmation that I was right!

I was curious about how we couldn’t figure out what was going on with a patient on our service, so I googled a differential dx and found a paper of a similarly unique presentation that ended up being a completely different diagnosis.

I took on the patient and presented my leading diagnosis. The attending was appropriately skeptical, but supportive.

Before we got more imaging for another etiology, I decided to go down and chat with a radiologist and turns out our original images had significant findings!
