1/ The position of the outgone Special Prosecutor was VERY SIMPLE: He did not want an office provided to him pre-bugged by National Security. He wanted complete control over the setting up of his office due to the sensitivity of his work. This was denied. He refused to budge.
2/ He insisted on arrangements for financial disbursements giving him complete control over his recruitments & spending on investigations. He wanted no presidential or Ministerial intrusion, or planting of staff etc. Government balked. He held his ground. So funds were locked
3/ This was a man who without any funding/staff spent his own time & resources to bring multiple suits to retrieve millions of dollars for the State. To suggest that he is incompetent or lazy is bizarre. Only in an uncritical society can such claims even be entertained. #NuffSaid
4/ It is NOT correct that the Special Prosecutor did not give the Finance Ministry a "hearing" during the preparation of the risk assessment. A "hearing" need not be oral. The OSP received letters from the Ministry & incorporated the responses in the report b4 IT WAS FINALISED.
