Why are schools still having spirit days that exclude students? I'm talking: crazy hair, hat, twin days or any day that forces children to buy things to belong. Why do I, as the educator approaching from an anti-racist equity lens, have to feel guilty about raising the alarm?

Can we consider ALL students and staff in our building to promote a positive climate? Whose voice is missing from the narrative? "When themes become inappropriate or exclusionary, they do the opposite of promoting a sense of belonging." #Inclusion2020 @PeelEquity #antiracism
