The Republicans on the board are saying that some of the precincts are out of balance. “I smell politics at the core of this action,” says Democrat member Kinloch of the Republicans on 4-member Wayne County Board of Canvassers that just deadlocked 2-2 on certifying election results in Michigan’s largest county, which hasn’t happened in memory. “I smell the games.”
This is a "slap in the face of all of the work we do," said a Wayne County election worker, blasting the 2 Republican board members who voted against certifying the election results in Michigan's largest county. She said they worked hard to process and tabulate the ballots.
Ryan Bates, a leader with liberal advocacy group Michigan United, slams the 2-2 deadlock in Wayne County on certifying election results as an "absolute travesty."

Bates says they will be "working in the courts and streets" to over turn this decision.

Head of Detroit NAACP blasts Republican board member on Wayne County Board of Canvassers for saying that she would not certify election results in 80%-black Detroit, but was ok with the results outside of Detroit: “Shame on you. ... You are a disgrace.”
The meeting is still going on. Speaker after speaker is blasting the 2 Republicans with the Wayne County Board for voting against certifying election, calling it racist against Detroit, a 90% minority city.

Wayne County (#2) and Monica Palmer (#15) are both trending on Twitter now in the U.S. after the Wayne County Board of Canvassers deadlocks 2-2 on certifying election results in Michigan's largest county. Palmer had said she only had a problem with Detroit's election results.

The 2 Democrats on the 4-member Wayne County Board of Canvassers appear to have left the online meeting. The two Republicans are still there as speaker after speaker blast them for being racist. One speaker compared them to Bull O'Connor. https://twitter.com/nwarikoo/status/1328840338853736450?s=20
Speakers are also upset that GOP board member William Hartmann said earlier he was going to skip over speakers from commenting because he could not pronounce their name.

You "picked other people because you could pronounce their name," said Pastor Ed Pruett. "Racist ignorance."
Update: The 2 Democrats on Wayne County Board of Canvassers are back at the meeting while Republican Monica Palmer has left. Current speaker, Trische Duckworth, wants Palmer to come back to the meeting: “She needs to face what she has done.”

Update: Before ending the meeting, the Wayne County board voted again, this time 4-0, to certify the election results, but asked the Sec. of State to look into precincts that were out of balance.

The reversal came after hours of complaints from Democrats and liberal advocates.
I just got confirmation from spokeswoman for Michigan Sec. of State Jocelyn Benson that the Wayne County Board of Canvassers has reversed their earlier 2-2 vote on certifying election results.
