As someone who was once popular on Twitch (hitting 1k viewers) to someone who now earns little money on Twitch due to life circumstances..

Even if I could stay consistent, growing on the platform doesn't feel worth the effort.

The discoverability just isn't there.
Nor are the perks.

You'll find more content creators going viral on YouTube, Twitter or Tiktok, where they upload their entire or portion of their broadcasts (which have tonnes of value).

I earn more money from sponsorships run on social media than I do from Twitch subs or ads.
This is of course personal, but in the long term, Twitch doesn't support you, it only provides tools for your community to support you, where Twitch benefits from.

Not to mention your content is cemented on a public server even after you delete it.
Now I am a prominent influencer in New Zealand for Twitch. Been on TV multiple times, given them a tonne of media exposure. But they don't recognize it and hardly support creators here, let alone me.

Anyway. Most of my future content will be on YouTube for the above reasons 😘
