1. Something odd I've noticed about surviving Covid is that my brain finds a way to discount all the good news about immunity. In my gut I expect to get it again or (the bigger nightmare) to to pass it to someone I love if I'm not careful.
2. I think part of this continued fear is how deeply unsettling it was to be in the 1st wave of Americans with a confirmed case; being ill, stuck in my home, with no PPE. No MD was able to give us clear info about treatment, contagiousness or effects on our then unborn child.
3. It's taken me 9 months to acknowledge this experience was more than an unlucky blip but actually traumatic. I am one of the luckiest people in the world and today totally healthy. The worldwide mental health impact of this pandemic is staggering to contemplate.
