My new illustrated collab piece with @value is out! Here's a quick peek inside THREAD/ https://twitter.com/value/status/1328819329606029312
1/ First off – major props to @EricJorgenson and @naval for providing the content for this piece. Check out Eric's awesome thread of leverage here https://twitter.com/EricJorgenson/status/1326925355064696832?s=20
2/ Leverage allows you to accomplish 100x what others can – it is a force multiplier for your effort, skill, and judgement.

Make today's labor tomorrow's leverage
3/ What is leverage? We used to have to trade our time directly for output – a 1:1 relationship, but now we have leverage. Leverage is anything that allows us to increase our input-to-output ratio
4/ Why is this important? For the majority of human history we did NOT have leverage.

If I was chopping wood or carrying water for you, you knew eight hours put in would be equal to about eight hours of output.
5/ Now we’ve invented leverage—through capital, cooperation, technology, productivity, all these means.

As a worker, you want to be as leveraged as possible so you have a huge impact without as much time or physical effort.
6/ Old School Leverage: Costly and Permission Required

Labor leverage is: other humans working for you. It is the oldest form of leverage, and actually not a great one in the modern world.
7/ Old school cont'd: money is good as a form of leverage. It means every time you make a decision, you multiply it with money. BUT somebody has to give you money to invest or to turn into a product
8/ New School Leverage: No Marginal Cost of Replication and Permissionless

The most interesting and the most important form of leverage is the idea of products that have no marginal cost of replication. This is the new form of leverage.
9/ This type of leverage is also permissionless. They don’t require somebody else’s permission for you to use them or succeed. Coding, writing books, podcasts, tweeting, YouTubing – you don’t need anyone’s permission to do them, and that’s why they are very egalitarian.
10/ Stack your leverage

Modern people can methodically apply, increase, and compound leverage until they stand on a MOUNTAIN OF LEVERS -- accomplishing 1,000x their peers. h/t @EricJorgenson for coining this concept 🗻🗻🗻
11/ So let's get to work! We live in THE age of infinite leverage. Tt's never been easier to start building, sharing, scaling, and working together.

As you build, be sure to pay it forward + give back whenever you can 🌎🌍🌏.
