So, quick-ish Brett Jodie story since some of you guys seemed interested in one from last night...
The team hotel was only a few blocks away from the ballpark in Bridgeport, but there was still an unwritten buddy system type thing after games, where you wouldn't let someone else walk alone back to the hotel.

Bridgeport is not always the greatest area, no secret there.
So I ended up waiting so I didn't have to walk back by myself and ended up meeting up with Brett and then-pitching coach Cory Domel.

The walk back wasn't particularly sketchy, but there were typically some less fortunate folks scattered along the way for sure. Is what it is.
Brett would stop his conversations with us every time we were getting ready to walk past one of them, just to say hello and ask them how they were doing.

And it wasn't a BS act, it wasn't because I was there. That's just who he was. Genuinely good guy who cares about people.
Have a bunch of similar stories for Brett and Jon Hunton as well. Jon showed up at my mom's funeral with the hospital bracelet still around his wrist. His son had just been born. But he made sure he was there for my family.
Those are the kind of people and that's the kind of culture that Somerset had built.

I hope I do a decent job of showing that in this story on both moving on, which will hopefully run today or tomorrow.
