NOVACYT

Can Q16 & Q32's be used for cancer screening?

Hell yes Bob!

Once these are installed they will decentralise ALL types of testing. See example use cases from PrimerDesign themselves:

There's not much you can't do with a PCR machine.

The problem before has been:

Size
Expense
Complicated Workflows
Centralisation
Proprietary nature of rapid-PCR machines
etc.

Let's look at a few of these...
Size and expense Novacyt has gotten down.

Q16's are palm sized now. Also cheap, likely under £10k for a Q16. Many people think they should actually give them out for free or at a loss just to get supply going (supply is worth millions)
PROmate™ is next level and workflows will be super easy from now on. So they've dealt with that too.

And proprietary? They've sorted also - they design tests to now just work on their own kit, but everyone else's.

So what's left...
Why isn't Novacyt a multi Billion per year diagnostics giant to date?

Well that's because the UK, and much of the world is therapeutic focused. Healthcare focuses massively, and profits massively from treatment costs.

We have cancer screening, HIV etc..
But it's pretty weak. Infrastructure isn't there and the culture isn't there either.

But every once in a while a catalyst comes along and diagnostics becomes a priority.
That happened here, and the UK Gov, and other governments now, are changing the actual infrastructure of their microbiology networks.

That means Q16s & Q32s are actually in GP's, in hospitals, Airports, anywhere you can think for all sorts of purposes.

Always ready.
And not just ready for the next virus - and there will always be outbreaks.

But now ready to screen HIV, Cancer, Respiratory illness etc same day. With an hour or two of an appointment anywhere, local clinic, or GP etc you can have whatever test you went in for.
It will become so commonplace, people will get tested regularly for many things each year, simply because it's available.

And that means the NHS saves countless Billions per year in treatment costs.

That's what this comes down to - saving NHS money.
And that's why the UK gov knows that investing now in Novacyt and their wickedly clever R&D will pay off in the long term.

Pandemic ready, and will save a ton of money in treatments.

Things are changing - covid is the catalyst for a new diagnostics innovator. A mid cap one.
