After my abusive #Narcissist father would go on extended abusive streaks, he’d fear that he’d gone too far and I might go to the police. So he’d call the police first, tell them a story portraying himself as the victim, and shut down any chance of me seeking justice for his abuse

Eventually, I think they actually started believing their own narrative and lies.
They are hardwired for dishonesty.
Certain words seem to offend the abusive #narcissist , like honor, sincerity, empathy, love...their mind has trouble processing the meaning of those words.
