If it's true that Jeremy Corbyn has been readmitted, then that is an important victory. Starmer has climbed down from a clearly untenable position. He and David Evans massively overreached, and knew they'd be subject to an expensive legal challenge that they couldn't win. 1/3
We shouldn't get complacent. There is nothing to stop them from doing this again under a different process. The Labour Left and the SCG have also exposed themselves with their weak responses and half-hearted solidarity. Starmer now knows the terrain. 2/3
I wonder at what price this has come about. I hope it's without preconditions. If it requires an apology or accepting a warning, then it'll be a defeat in many ways. In any case, we must push forward, and demand that all those suspended for supporting Jeremy are readmitted. 3/3
