🧵Vaccines : 90% efficacy no adverse side effects 👀 🧵

What does this even mean ?

Pfizer(US) ,Moderna(US),Sputnik (russian) all have press releases

Over the next few weeks results from other candidates are expected

But lets start with Pfizer 👇🏾
Pfizer are a huge pharmaceutical. Many will know them for Viagra. Their press release claims no adverse side effects and effective until we see the data specifics unclear

Read summaries below

That being said I went looking for extra info and their protocol was published 👇🏾
What are side effects in a vaccine trial

Severity is graded into mild, moderate, severe and life threatening.

They state NO SEVERE side effects they didn't say no side effects!

This was a 145 page document !!! I skimmed and took out bits I think everyone wants to know.
Now... should we trust Pfizer in injecting our bodies ( ? )

But here is the Nigerian Meningitis scandal Pfizer was involved in. A 10 year battle that is now one of the biggest scandals in the pharmaceutical world.

Note it was regarding a DRUG not Vaccine
Pfizer have had other controversial "scandals" . This is not to say don't trust them but understand that there is a HUGE difference between side effects from a drug and vaccine.

There will be other candidates and Moderna looking like the most accessible so far...
Oops I forgot to continue 😂😂. Well let's finish

Next up Moderna

The newbies....

Moderna pros: diverse trial data
Only 11 severe side effects

They still haven't published peer reviewed data and their safety results were more like an infographic
Moderna are too new to have any scandals. But visit their website and they are involved in quite interesting trials
Next Russia ... the ones the world are against lol

Efficacy levels above 90% but again no peer reviewed data
Again no scandals from this team but fun find is they helped develop and Ebola vaccine and have done a few other interesting ones
To end Oxford. In my opinion they have done the most to explain the pace at which they got their data.
They published peer reviewed data of phase 2 results.

Phase two results weren't very diverse but there is hope from data of their phase 3 trials
The only oxford scandal is how the trials were stopped due to side effects.

This was all explained in their peer received published paper.
