"Link in bio" is becoming the new battleground of the Creator Economy.
Who will become Lord of the Links? Will there be one link to rule them all?
A few thoughts:

Who will become Lord of the Links? Will there be one link to rule them all?

A few thoughts:

1/ 10 years ago, the (internet) world was different. Google was ruling the world and creators were using one-page website builders like http://About.Me to convert Google searches into followers.
Its relevancy is slowly fading away.
Its relevancy is slowly fading away.
2/ 5 years ago, Social Media platforms took over and became the main way creators were building their audiences.
They started using "Link in bio" services like @Linktree_ to bypass the platforms and transform followers into fans.
2020 has treated them well.

2020 has treated them well.
3/ Today, Creators are increasingly both cross-platform and multi-product.
They need Business-in-a-Box (BiaB) services like http://Flooz.link that leverage the "Link in bio" real estate to transform fans into customers.

4/ In my opinion, these mobile-first & link-first BiaB will win the creator mid-tail (from $1k to $30k monthly revenues).
Here's why:
Here's why:
5/ Mobile-first: Creators are running 80% of their business on mobile. From content creation to fan interactions and brand deals -- they run their entire business with their fingertips.
6/ Link-first: Distribution is everything. Like @AndrewChen said: "Whoever controls the link controls the business model for the new economy that's being built".
Plus, Link-first enables product-led growth flywheel.

7/ BiaB: Mid-tail creators don't just need digital storefronts. They need integrated solutions with good-enough features covering 80% of their use-cases so they can easily transform their audiences into customers.
Low churn until these creators become massively successful.

8/ How is the competition heating up? All incumbents initially built these services either as side-projects ( @Linktree_, http://bio.fm ) or loss-leaders ( @latermedia HeyHere).
They're now jumping full-time and raising VC money to grab that heated real estate.

9/ More importantly, product-obsessed founders like @lcheloufi and 1st-time founders like @nealjean1 are now entering this battleground and dramatically increase competition. Who benefits from this? Creators.
10/ But wait, what if Instagram does/kills it? By definition, these link-first services are cross-platform. Plus, Instagram's users are advertisers, not creators.
Ad-focused platforms have been historically bad at building for creators.

11/ Anyhow, I'll follow this area very closely and I've now replaced all my links with https://flooz.link/hugo , I'm super excited by the product, let me know what you think!
