Now that he’s declared for the 2021 #NFLDraft, let’s do a deep dive on former #SCAR CB Jaycee Horn. A prospect that I think will be a CB1 candidate before it’s all said and done.

Thread:
One of the first traits that I look for in CB prospects is confidence. It’s the one position that I think is half of the battle entering the league as a rookie. You have to feel that you belong.

Horn definitely has it. He isn’t afraid to show it either. Extreme competitor.
Another trait that stands out about Horn’s game is his efficiency in the red zone. He understands how to feel where WRs are all while still being able to find the ball in flight in the air.
What value do you add outside of the passing game? Horn’s physicality carries over as a blitzer and as a tackler.

He loves doing both. SCAR used him often on CAT (corner) blitzes from the boundary.
An area I want to see Horn clean up is that he can get caught guessing quite a bit when WRs switch directions on him quickly. That happened a couple times against TENN.

He panics and immediately reaches out to grab. Once he learns to trust his technique to recover, it’ll help.
