It was beyond inapproriate.

I am so sick & tired of doctor's tweeting patient interactions on this app.

I am baffled by his boldness to tweet it.

I am further baffled by the number of accounts that found it funny.

I don't tolerate nor take tweets like that lightly.
Call me old fashioned or sticking to my Oath but I have never & will never tweet cases or patient discussion, no matter how comical or ridiculous I might find it.

CONFIDENTIALITY MEANS SOMETHING.

EVERYBODY KNOWS SOMEBODY IN DIS COUNTRY.

And almost everyone has social media.
It's really hard being a doctor in this country. Escaping to social media for a likkle joke, funny meme or watch a puppy video is a break time luxury😔.

While I HATE it when people police doctors for cursing or wearing 👙, inapprorpiate patient interactions is a universal NO.
And whatever medical ✌🏾CULTURE✌🏾 the TL is justifying is a HIGHLY TOXIC & MISOGYNISTIC one that NEEDS TO END🚫

This siiiiick fraternity of Senior doctors covering up for other Sr./Junior doctors' sleazy ways has happened for FAR TOO LONG.

I hate it & I am tired of it.
There are 50 bajillion ways to discuss with a Mother how to wean her child off the breast.

I work in Paediatrics, for crying out loud🙄😒🙄😒🙄😒🙄😒🙄😒🙄

Why do we have to explain to adults in 2020 that "Would you let me suck your breast?" is NOT OKAY??????
As someone who has been open on this app about her experience with predatory Senior & Junior doctors, I DO NOT take those remarks lately NOR do I find it funny to threaten to mark down med students OSCE's because they won't remain silent/appease you.

That one hit a nerve.
As a med student, I had a Jr doctor threaten to not sign my proceducre card until I agreed to go on a movie date w/ him.

As an SHO, a married Consultant said he would write an additonal letter of recommendation if I agreed to go to dinner with him.

The harassment has to END.
To the med students who spoke out: VERY GOOD👏🏾KEEP IT UP👏🏾 We need more of you in the system.

Honest, hard-working, empathetic healthcare workers who know when to hang up the stethscope and be regular people & call out BS when you see it, regarless of the doctor's Seniority.
I never rant like this but 1) It really upset me and 2) I had the time today.

If my tweets have triggered any female doctors or female patients, I apologize❤🙏🏽

But I wasn't going to see those tweets & not say (AND DO📞👥) something about it.

Stay masked. Stay safe. ✌🏾💜
