It's a great manga and movie. Excellent story. With a very varied cast of characters.

I'm gonna be talking about both anime and manga of course.
SYNOPSIS

“Shouya Ishida, a boy always looking for ways to beat boredom, ends up looking for it in the wrong place. Weirded out by his new classmate, a deaf transfer student named Shouko Nishimiya, he deems her as the target of his ostracizing and bullying. Day after day, Shouya
picks on Shouko, unaware of the effects of his thoughtless actions. He finally understands the pain he has inflicted on her when one day, his bullying culminates in her leaving the school, and his classmates begin to shun and harass him every chance they get instead. Determined
to right his wrongs, five years later, Shouya, now a third-year high school loner, meets Shouko again. Thus begins the story of a young man's path to redemption.”

The story is incredible without a doubt.
In my opinion, the main theme is redemption. Is there really a way to make up for your sins? Can you really be forgiven for your past deeds? Can you go on and live a better life? Shoya is on a path to redemption. Trying to make

things better but his past keeps haunting him again & again. Can he really get over it all & be able to move forward? Is it really possible? Can he really do it?

I love the story but I really have no way of putting my thoughts in words just gonna say that it is one of the best!
Manga is great, it shows a lot more scenes that were cut in the anime and some stuff in a more elaborate manner. Mainly the part that was cut were the scenes regarding the movie-making that Tomohiro and the gang makes throughout the whole manga and the ending part that
takes place after the movie ending.

Anyway, the movie handles and portrays the story well without a doubt greatly.

I have a lot of things to say about the characters so bear with me please.

The anime doesn't touch the part of movie-making to cover all the imp things in slotted time but bcz of that we don't see some scenes of their grade school teacher and Satoshi. The movie

doesn’t develop the side characters much. But after reading the manga I was able to understand them more and I think I liked seeing more of them and learning things about them as well.

The teacher is a complete jerk like really the char I hate the most.

The second char after the teacher that I liked the least was Kawai, even the manga didn't make me like her much more. She is just okay

Shouko's mother - yet another char I love more after reading the manga. She is a strong woman who did try her best to get her daughter to have a good life. Being hard on herself and taking a strict role in the household. I really love her and respect her for all of that.

Nagatsuka - he is definitely a very nice char. I love his simple yet interesting character. I loved him for always supporting Shoyo and being the best bud!!
Yuzuru - she is a great sister. Supporting her sister since childhood taking care of her and even being more stronger for her. She tries her best in every possible way to help Shoko without caring about herself. I love her.

ENJOYMENT

This really is one great story. It made me tear up and I think no matter how many times I watch or read it I'm still gonna love it and cry. I bet most people have already watched this great masterpiece but if you haven't, do it now and I would recommend reading the
manga as well not only for some extra content but because it's also a masterpiece in its own way.

For me both anime & manga are masterpieces; they both tell the story in a very special way. Some things I prefer better in manga some in anime. In the end, I love it in both mediums
