Fox News is in a ratings slump. It's entirely predictable in the wake of Trump's loss. The network still has a huge audience, they're just not watching as many hours as normal. And some have flipped over to Newsmax. But there's something interesting in Sunday's ratings report...
CNN has been beating Fox every day in the key 25-54 demo. But Fox was able to win one hour on Sunday: When Maria Bartiromo pushed voter fraud fictions and featured Trump lawyers like Rudy Giuliani. The B.S. claims made reporters at Fox cringe… but the Fox base wanted to hear it.
We know the Fox base prefers talk shows over newscasts, but this spike was enormous: from 266k in the demo at 9am to 428k for Maria at 10am, then 343k, and 210k at noon. CNN was much steadier: 385k, 383k, 379k, 376k. Trump promoted Maria's show on Twitter, so that clearly helped.
