Why are some ppl so mad about student loan forgiveness -- helping individuals -- but didn't have a problem with baking out the airline industry?

It's really disheartening to see complaints about those with student loan debt "but working hard enough" or getting "bs degrees"
I hate being made to feel that my Library Science Master's, Spanish Major and Psychology and Photography Minors aren't "good enough"
Each one of them has helped me get a job at some point.
I maximized my credits each semester to get 2 unrelated minors with my major.
Only reason it was 5 years in undergrad and not 4 is bc the last class I needed was offered the semester I was studying abroad.
I worked 30 hours off campus at Walgreens and 10 hours in campus bc I qualified for work-study.
I had full time hours, but not comparable pay.
In 2006, I made about $7/hr and change from the drugstore and $5.25 from the campus job. My rent was about $300. I played a game with myself on how low I could get the electric bill to go each month.
_OMG, but you studied abroad_
Yes. For a foreign language. In a country where it's spoken all day every day. In a non touristy city most Americans never have heard of.
But please, I love hearing about my useless degrees.
How, at first, I couldn't get hired wo omitting my education.
How my psych degree that got me a healthcare job is liberal arts bullcrap.
How my combination of photography and library degree got me a position in Hollywood.
How the only time I "missed" student loan payments was when they sold my loan without informing me and "lost" my payments, even tho cashed checks were scanned in and available for me to see, signed and stamped by the loan processor.
When my rent in LA was $975 and my student loan payments were $800.
And then I got laid off as my company moved to another country to get lower taxes.
Max unemployment at the time was around $1800/mo.
Not much left over for transit for job interviews. Not to mention food.
I am no longer under that crushing amount, unfortunately I had to consolidate and that came with the cost of about a 2% interest rate, in exchange for manageable monthly payments.
But at 5.25% the payments barely cover the interest.
I have completely paid off what I borrowed. But the amount borrowed and amount that is on my balance is still about the same number. Prior to the pandemic freeze, it was going UP each month.
I'm fortunate to have still been able to make payments.
Not like my experience will change the minds of ppl who don't want student loan forgiveness.
"I worked hard and was responsible and paid mine off, do I get a refund?"
Am I not working hard? I'm looking at trying to score a second full-time job. Full. Time.
Oh, and I currently rent a room in a house shared with 4 other adults. It's not really feasible to live alone in SoCal.
"Then why stay in SoCal?"
Bc this is where the jobs are.
Student loans don't get adjusted based on cost of living.
I guess I just want it to be known that student loan debt is not simple. Those of us who have it are working on it, but it is unsustainable.
I have a decent job. I still cannot live on my own.
Oh, and it does ding you on your credit report. That's a myth that it doesn't.
