0/N An investigation of super groups though k-pop phenomenon BTS & the Founding Fathers,
a thread:

1/N Seven young upstarts, three foils, one leader. Exceptionally talented and energetic underdogs whose ideas would reach a global audience, but what other similarities do these two groups share, and who are the individuals that make the whole greater than the sum of its parts?
2/N Is the recipe for creating a k-pop idol super-group encoded in the founding of the most successful cultural phenomenon ever, the United States? Yes, it is. Read on to find out how...
3/N All the secrets are here:
- Seven members made up of three sets of pairs and one leader
- All members must be hard working and generally talented, but each pair must be exceptional at one thing
- Each individual in a talented pair must differentiate themselves from the other

4/N The last and most important secret:
- The leader must not be better at any specialization than any other member, but must be the best communicator and most respected
Ok, on to their members and the character parallels...

5/N Let’s start with the eldest in each group: Ben Franklin and Jin. Ben’s foil is John Adams, also born in Massachusetts and well respected by the time of the revolution. These men were different in temperament and style, but they both acted as the face of the group at times.
6/N Ben Franklin and John Adams were the diplomats, although the inventive Franklin practiced his own brand of diplomacy based on showmanship and presentation. Check out the outfits he chose for his posts In England versus France below:
7/N Jin ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kim_Seok-jin), known as “Worldwide Handsome” has the bravado and flair of Franklin. He is an adept dancer and a trained actor. His main contribution to the group besides his looks and acting chops is his vocal stability.
8/N John Adams, pugnacious and puritanical, is best known for advocating for and architecting the Declaration of Independence, although he convinced Jefferson to write it. Adams appealed to logic and values to win allies and the presidency, unlike Franklin’s wine & dine approach.
9/N V ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_(singer) , another actor, is BTS’ Adams. Unlike Jin, he is know for his “husky” voice and as the “tone setter.” He also acts in Korean dramas and is an influential role model. His best friend and co-conspirator in mischief making is Jimin.
10/N James Madison and John Jay specialized in law, although Madison never practiced. He was incredibly smart, finishing college in just 2 years. Despite being sickly & under 100 lbs, Madison was held in high esteem. However, indecision marred his presidential and personal legacy
11/N Jinmin ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimin_(singer,_born_1995) is Madison’s BTS counterpart. Jinmin is a prodigy dancer/singer. His delicate vocals and elegant dance moves elevate the group. His greatest flaw is perfectionism, which can lead to guilt & stress. He also wears blue contacts…
12/N John Jay is Madison’s foil. A lawyer, from a rich New York family, Jay collected mentors and fans from an early age. He is known for achieving success as foreign secretary, a writer, governor and Chief Justice of the United States. Jay is also held views ahead of his time.
13/N Jungkook ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungkook ) is BTS’ Jay. He is good at everything & a trend setter whose nickname “Sold Out King” made him a fashion icon. Along with Jinmin, he is the main vocalist and the most gifted. He is able to dance demanding routines & sing at the same time.
14/N Jay’s fellow New Yorker, Alexander Hamilton, was a prolific writer and capitalist. Like Madison, Hamilton was a prodigy. Always controversial, he authored 51/85 of the Federalist papers. He's best known for being the first Secretary of the Treasury and dying in a duel.
15/N Suga ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suga_(rapper) is the Hamilton of BTS. He began writing songs at age 13 and was working in a recording studio by 17. He writes approximately 200 songs a year and his name comes from the words “shooting guard” in Korean.
16/N Thomas Jefferson, the other capitalist, was Hamilton’s adversary & also a prolific writer. A visionary, Jefferson never lived up to his lofty ideals. While wealthy, he had a hatred of banks & love for common people. He was a known advocate of free expression & dance.
17/N J-Hope ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J-Hope ) is BTS’ Jefferson. The dance leader and best read, J-Hope is the idealist of the group, spreading his message of peace through music. He is also the most down to earth and somewhat of a joker.
18/N Last, and most importantly, is the singular leader.
The US had George Washington. He has no foil, and as such, is unique. He also carried resentment at being passed over by the British military, but above all he was a tremendous communicator, coordinator and commander.

19/N The leader of BTS is RM ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RM_(rapper)), the only member who speaks fluent English and quite literally speaks for the group. He has been criticized for selling out his rap career on the one hand and not fitting k-pop beauty standards on the other.
20/20 This thread isn’t really about BTS or the Founding Fathers. The formula for an epic team has existed from the Illiad to the International Space Station.
