Here is my review of the new MacBook Air with Apple's M1 processor instead of Intel. It is incredibly, shockingly good. There were a thousand things that could have gone wrong with this transition, instead almost everything exceeded my expectations

Shame about the webcam, though. It and a whiff on running iOS apps are the only downsides, really. We included a few benchmarks in our review and video because they're impressive, but the bottom line is that it is fast, works with every app I tried, and has great battery life
Here's @reckless with his review of the new MacBook Pro. Same deal, just with a TouchBar, better battery life, and a fan for sustained performance. https://www.theverge.com/e/21334538
And @chriswelch reviewed the Mac Mini with M1. Also has impressive performance, but maybe fewer ports than you'd want on a desktop machine. https://www.theverge.com/e/21334087
Processor transitions are usually messy! There are surely going to be gotchas and caveats with this one, but so far we haven't uncovered any huge problems. Even apps that aren't designed for this chip like Photoshop and Premiere outperform Intel ultrabooks -- through Rosetta!
It just works.
Also had a blast making this video with the team! https://twitter.com/PhilTEspo/status/1328700491891683330
ALSO. Big thanks to @mcsquared96 and @dcseifert for thier help in editing these reviews and in talking through the best ways to approach various benchmarks and how they compare to Tiger Lake. Monica has reviewed so many ultrabooks!
