Really listen to what children are interested in. No matter how obscure the topic – there’s probably a book about it. Try and silence the part of your brain that wants to push them towards advanced and ‘proper’ books. Reading for pleasure needs to be just that. 2/6
Ask for some help. Booksellers and librarians are an absolute treasure trove of knowledge and they love nothing more than to help you find the perfect book for the little readers in your life. 3/6
Get involved!! One of the few upsides to everything going virtual this year is that events are more accessible than ever. Geography is no longer an issue when your child can watch and interact with authors though the screen. 4/6
This is also a great way to normalise the social element of the book world and WonderFest is the perfect place to start!
5/6
No matter how children enjoy books – be it physical books, audiobooks, or ebooks – stories are for everyone and there is a story for everyone!
