thread on why Hunter x Hunter is actually not a bad series.
Hunter x Hunter starts off with a great sense almost immediately that it’s going to be an anime based on world building. from the moment me meet Gon it’s made very clear that this is going to be an anime heavily reliant on character development and story.
because of this, it makes the hunter exam arc THAT much better because it’s able to capture the audience in a trance with the constant introduction to new characters, powers and continuous world building we see.
Personally i thought the exam arc was really good because instead of waiting several arcs or episodes to introduce characters, they were all introduced as a whole group, making you want to learn more about them even faster, which is why when we actually get to see
their abilities and development, it’s that much better, because the anticipation has been there from the start. the rest of the arcs in HxH are all something of their own, personally and for most, Chimera ant, york new city and greed island are all top tier arcs.
each of these arcs is something unique, with the ant arc being the best one, yes it’s a long and drawn out arc, however it’s done in a way that keeps the audience entertained and hooked. because it’s so long, it gives a sense of excitement and wonder about what’s really gonna
happen. with the introduction of all the villians who swear their life to meruem, we see several incredible fights, scenes and dialogues occur. obviously the most memorable being gon and pitou and meruem and netero.
all and all, hxh is an incredible story with an amazing adaptation that never fails to display the power of scenery. if you haven’t peeped this, make sure you check it out ❤️
