I would like to talk about the fetishization of skin color and it’s effects on self worth. I have seen many of these “pick ones” within gay twitter. Most of them are a bunch of body sizes and types (which again is a fetishized look on queer culture but I won’t start (1/4)
But this on in particular is speaking to 4 men roughly the same build but 2 of the 4 are different skin colors. This is very polarizing for me because it is to ask what skin color do you prefer? Which leads me into the “BBC” fetish and culture, I find appalling (2/4)
The comments alone within this post speak volumes to how we fetishize skin color and exoticness. From people stating number 3 has no competition to I love paki men, there are clear signs of colorist within this thought choosing partners based on skin color (3/4)
Overall, all four men are attractive, yes. And that was stated in this post as well but, choosing someone on their melanin or lack there of is inherently colorist and racist (whether it be internally or externally). Thank you coming to my TedTalk (4/4)
Oh bonus! Post like these can contribute to people of color believing their worth is ties directly to their skin color, penis size, ass size, etc. The fact of the matter is we are wanted when we can prove we are our myths or we are not wanted based on our attributes (5/4)
That can normally be attributed to brown and black skin. Again, this post is bad. Don’t be this post. Now I’m done. (6/4)
