THE IMPORTANCE OF EIGHTH CHAPTER OF GITA.

The eighth chapter of Gita provides you only happiness. This is what Vishnu had said to Lakshmi when she asked the importance of eighth chapter.

In South, there was a village called Amardpur. There lived a Brahmin named Bhavsharma.

A woman of easy virtue was his wife. He had fallen victim to many evil vices. He would accept drink, gamble, rob, in short he was a store house of Vices. He would regularly sit and drink with drunkards. One day he consumed the drink more than what he could digest.

As a result he expired. Due to his sins he was born as a Palm tree. And on that Palm, came to stay a couple of Brahmrakshas.

The previous birth story of this couple(Brahmrakshas) becoming demons is narrated here. In previous birth both were Brahmin husband and wife.

Although the husband was a devout Brahmin, but he accepted big charities but never donated back in charity. His wife Kumati as per her name was an evil person. They both expired and became Brahmrakshas. This is how they came to reside on that palm.

The wife once asked her husband about how could they get relief from this yoni. The Brahmin explained that a sermon on Brahmvidya's, thoughts about atma tattva and the knowledge of Karma could release them from this birth.

The wife(previously Kumati) then asked him

किं तद्ब्रह्म किंमध्यात्मं किं कर्म पुरूषोत्तम (meaning what is Brahm and Adhyatm and what is the Karma). As soon as the wife repeated these words from the eighth chapter of Gita,

the Palm tree again became Bhav Sharma who now turned to be a pure & Knowledge laden person.The couple too were sanctified.They kept chanting this half mantra until a divine chariot took them to Swarg.
Now Bhav Sharma wrote this mantra on a paper. With this he travelled to Kashi.

He performed a strict tapasya to Vishnu through this half mantra.

Vishnu appeared before him and granted Moksha not only to Bhav Sharma, but to his ancestors too.

This mantra, even a half phrase chant gives you relief from birth and death cycle.
