'concerns are not exaggerated and overstated' IS NOT the same thing as saying 'the problem has not been overstated by political opponents'.

People (Jewish and non-Jewish alike) were right to be concerned about antisemitism within the Labour movement, however marginal or rare..
But others clearly used it as a political football and made ridiculous claims suggesting the party was 'engulfed' by antisemitism and that Corbyn was complicit in it.
At no point does Corbyn's statement today retract or contradict that essential truth. @DailyMailUK's characterisation of it as a 'grovelling apology' is straight out of the Trump/Putin world of fantasy and 'alternative facts'.
