New salary caps in La Liga. (What league allows, in other words)
Big drops: over €600m in total.
Barça down by €288m
Madrid down by €172m
Atlético down by €126m
Obviously, I’m biased, but thing that really hit me was the huge gap between Espanyol and the rest in Segunda (even more so when you go beyond the other two relegated clubs).
Malaga, in administration and pretty much building a team from scratch, with former owner having just been hit by an embargo on his assets and with his shares blocked, have the lowest budget of all. And they’re doing pretty well so far.
Pandemic has hit everyone pretty much, of course, but some have ridden it out better than others. Athletic and Real Sociedad well placer for instance.
And as recently promoted teams, Huesca, Cadiz and Elche in a pretty good position too. Valencia, as seen in sales, have a very difficult financial situation. More sales will probably happen.
