Just to follow up on this, doing some work with @bigdropbrewco has been a genuine eye opener. Co-founder Rob’s story of his concerns about how his work lead to lots of boozy sessions, that teetered on impacting his personal life really made me think. https://twitter.com/melissacole/status/1328614694484127744
It’s obviously INCREDIBLY easy for someone like me to reach for a beer at any time of the day, I’m constantly surrounded by the stuff, I live in a relatively small flat and lots of nooks and surfaces are full of very good beer. Let alone my fridges (yes, plural due to the job!)
But I’ve always set boundaries for myself, I don’t drink when I’m poorly (it’s an immunosuppressant & I don’t like it when I am ill), I’m not a ‘pints in the airport at 7am’ person and I try to leave the early part of the week dry when I can, unless it’s professional stuff.
BUT I am aware I drink more readily when I’m stressed, or had bad news, which is most days like most folks at the moment, and having really tasty non-alcs in the flat is a great management tool for me (even if I’m cheating on @bigdropbrewco 😁).
So, if you turn up in my timeline with nonsense like ‘what’s the point of a non-alcoholic beer’ you will get short shrift. Because although the above is about me personally, it also means you have zero empathy for other people’s struggles or lifestyle choices, don’t be that dick!
Finally, for those wanting recommendations, here is a non-exhaustive list of ones I like, and I’ll add to it over time:

Big Drop, Thornbridge, Van de Streek, Mikkeller, Adnams, Infinite Session, Sheppy’s (cider), Stiegl, Coast Beer, Green Times.

Thanks for listening/reading. x
