I was planning to give an unconditional base payment supplemented with money for chores (not regular chores like tidying room or kitchen table, only special chores like raking leaves). An argument could be made for only giving money in exchange for chores I guess
(for context, in the UK apparently 28% of children are paid in return for chores, but I don't know if that means ONLY for chores, or ALSO for chores)
