I think a lot about how Akechi sets so many boundaries that he ends up cutting himself off from things he wants; he yells at Akira for touching him one time and Akira carefully avoids touching him for months afterwards...which just makes Akechi think Akira doesn't want him.
he has to have so many boundaries because he feels like he'll cease to exist if he doesn't viciously protect himself but he also doesn't really know what his boundaries are so he just. lashes out at anything that inspires too much emotion.
it cuts himself from things he wants in the sense that the people who would respect his boundaries stop giving him those things and the people who wouldn't anyway, use those things to hurt him, and that just reinforces the idea that he can't have what he wants without ruining it.
I think sometimes he doesn't even remember saying no to things (he says no to so much reflexively) and then spends weeks thinking Akira's secretly disgusted with him because he'll touch the other thieves and not Akechi, and Akechi would never lower himself to *asking* so he just
wants and wants and hates that he keeps latching onto things he can't have, but he doesn't even know why he can't have it and no one will explain it to him...it drives him nuts.
