One thing I can tell you that the @BBCNewsnight piece on low success rates for Black PhD students won't:

Don't mistake me. Black students deserve to see and work with Black academics and other academics of colour.
But this pattern is a scale up of systemic racism where a student is automatically othered and not judged on merit or on the fit of their work.
