Thread on why Christians trying to convert Jews to Christianity is antisemitic.
Christianity has been going out of its way to try to convert Jews for centuries and for most of that time it was through forced conversion. The proselytizing now may not be forced and seem “nicer”, but it is still rooted in the same values of Christian supremacy and antisemitism.
Christian supremacy, in simplest terms, is the belief that Christianity is better than all other religions and cultures and the only way one can be a good person is if they are Christian.
According to Christian supremacist ideology people who are not Christian are lesser and therefore need “saving”. The only way to be “saved” according to Christians/Christianity is to convert to Christianity.
When Christians try to “save” Jews specifically it’s antisemitic for two reasons. The first reason being that the goal of proselytizing directed at Jewish people is to destroy Judaism. The second reason is because of the long history of Christian antisemitism.
This is why it is antisemitic for Christians trying to convert Jews to Christianity.
