Reading up on the racial disparities in regards to diagnoses in ADHD is really upsetting, especially knowing that on the flip side while black and brown kids are underdiagnosed with these ADHD, they are diagnosed with conduct disorder. Two disorders. Two that carry life
long implications. And depending on your race and ethnicity, one is highly more stigmatized than the other and can be mistaken for ADHD in black and brown children. Its just really not fair. And on one hand society wants to punish and demonize communities of color for
being distrustful of the mental health system, but on the other biases and racism are real in the mental health field and constantly damaging black and brown children. You can't fault communities for turning away from a system that will place a label that will follow them
for their entire lives unless disputed.

Per the link.springer article: "There is a growing body of evidence indicating that when compared to non-Hispanic white youth, some ethnic and racial minority youth are more likely to receive a diagnosis of a disruptive behavior disorder and are less likely to receive a diagnosis
of ADHD."
