The illusion of containment rests on hubris: that flare ups can be spotted and contained.

No, they cannot.

Not in the real world.

Not in the vast majority of cases, when the virus is widespread, jumping from windpipe to windpipe at the speed of life.

1/x
In the real world, the virus will catch us. Always.

The false promises of containment are not sufficient for attacking viral density.

But there is one thing that ruthlessly and intelligently does just that:

Our immune system.

2/x
The immune system is a universal and persistent destroyer of viral density.

It's mastered its craft over millions of years.

It's very good at what it does.

Strong immune responses are up to 1000X more robust than vaccine responses.

3/x
But in order for our social/biological immune system to destroy viral enemies, it must come into contact with them.

Contact, not seclusion.

Our immune system must be allowed to fight.

4/x
You want a vaccine?

Great.

I do, too.

The vaccine we all desire will be far more effective if we let our immune system do what it does best:

Destroy #SARSCoV2.

5/x
Now when we do battle, not all warriors are equal.

Some warriors are stronger and better than others.

Enter: kids, teens, and young adults.

They are insouciant Vikings. Seriously!

They laugh in the face of #SARSCoV2.

They kill it with their serene indifference.

6/x
Even 30, 40, and healthy 50-year olds can be be *pro-social* Vikings.

By taking small risks, living life, running society in person, and carefully interacting with the vulnerable, we help build immunity to protect them in a war they cannot safely fight on their own.
