Thread: Back in the '80's my daughter, then an only child, had more toys and clothes than she could wear out. Since I came up from nothing, I knew she was blessed with everything and I wanted her to have compassion for those who had less. A gay friend suggested...
....The AIDS Resource Center in Dallas, where families, mothers and children whose lives were affected by AIDS sought out support, food, clothing etc. So, on regular intervals we cleaned out her drawers, closets and took the items to the AIDS Resource Center. We met children...
and mothers who were affected...it was sad. We had so much, they had only hope...it was good to see my child learn the art of generosity and compassion...well fast forward to the '90's her dad is delivering baskets of food for Thanksgiving to refugees in Dallas and impoverished..
...then in 2011 her dad died of a sudden illness. By then she'd moved to New Hampshire. She started http://shiresharing.org  she negotiated prices and collected donations from major grocery chains in NH, each year, donated food Thanksgiving meals to the disadvantaged. Then...
...along the way she added winter coats because, believe it or not, not all people in New Hampshire have warm winter coats! Now this year, we have so many people who are in need due to COVID many lost their homes and are literally living in tents in New Hampshire....
....so many mouths to feed and warm coats to deliver...this is what it costs: $25.00 feeds a family a real Thanksgiving meal, and $20.00 buys a warm coat for a child or an adult. Can you find it in your budget to donate? Here is the link and yes it's a 501(c)3 legit charity...
....just go to http://shiresharing.org  make your secure donation and voila a receipt for you will be generated! The need is stronger this year than ever...thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
This is what my daughter does for her fellow human beings and I have to think it goes back to the '80's when she gave up her toys and clothes to the kids at the AIDS Resource Center in Dallas whose parents were ill and their futures were uncertain...
...so I'm really proud of my kid who grew up and retained that kindness, generosity of spirit and continues to give to those who have less and that makes our world a better place in which to live...maybe you can give too? http://shiresharing.org
...and I'm proud to share that tonight my grand-daughter with her own money bought 30 pair of socks for the homeless living in tents in Manchester, NH and personally delivered them tonight...kindness is contagious please give if you can http://shiresharing.org
Good morning! I’m not a good thread writer, I re-read this and realized I left off some important info...$25 feeds a family of 4, $20 buys a warm winter coat, she has a source and orders them new. People can choose traditional Thanksgiving meals, real food from the grocery...
...store including vegetables, turkey, dressing, etc. She and her volunteers put together meals based on special religious or dietary needs - poverty impacts everyone and this year is no different, except she has added special Covid precautions ton protect everyone...
...simply go to http://www.shiresharing.org  you can donate any amount, say $5.00 - every little bit helps - like I said earlier $25.00 feeds a family of 4, $20 allows her to buy a brand new warm coat...like I said I’m not a good thread writer, just a proud mom and grand mom..
Thank you for reading this long thread, whatever you give or to whoever you give, this year, it’s so important to give something if not to my daughter’s charity, to some charity...FYI all money from this small hometown charity goes to the people it serves. No money is...
Paid to the people who help, no paycheck to my daughter or anyone involved not even gas money. 100% goes for food and coats for the people in need. Thanks for reading this. Please share it if you can! Link: http://shiresharing.org
