One of the downsides of the electoral college is not being able to understand how elections are run in safe states. For example, New York is awful when it comes to counting absentee ballots but they don't get a lot of attention because it's not a swing state.
The media doesn't care about New York because it's not a swing state. I can guarantee you that if New York were a swing state, their horrible election laws would be the top story on every cable news show.
New York hasn't even counted a fraction of the millions of absentee ballots they have received. But you're not hearing about that at all because it's not a swing state.
