OK because I'm thinking about debt and Christianity I'm of course thinking of that dingus Dave Ramsey. It's been years since I watched his finance guru VHS tapes but what stuck with me was he kept quoting the Proverb, "The borrower is slave to the lender,"
but he didn't go on to say, "...and that's why we shouldn't be lenders because slavery is bad." He just gave you advice on how to transition to being a landlord so you can get old and die comfortably being a lender instead of a borrower.
Like, he had all the pieces to say, "And that's why we're called to create a classless society and abolish debt. Here's the parable Jesus tells where the Kingdom of God is like abolishing wages."
