Man, this thread is niche af but idc 🧵.

On maintaining “comradely discussion”:

1. Back & forths are often had as if ea party is always coming from the same knowledge & experience. Often that’s not the case & should be acknowledged. Be careful, but give weight when necessary.
2. Being “comradely” does not = “no one is ever wrong”. Just bc we’re great at keeping a civil tone doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be an acknowledgment when really wrong things are said. Part of being comradely = verbally admitting when you’re wrong.

Say it w me: “I. Was. Wrong.”
3. Being “comradely” shouldn’t be used to dissipate warranted emotional reactions. As the head mistress of getting angry when talking politics I cannot & will not separate the two. I’ve lived too much of the oppression I’m fighting & I will always be angry about it. Fight me 🥺.
4. On that note, being “comradely” especially in conversations about race takes a TON outta bipoc. It will always be the most exhausting topic. I will do it bc I consider u worth it. If yt ppl care, stop assuming race is implicit in ur work & have that convo w urselves EARNESTLY.
To converse w emotion is hella human & a lot more relatable than what we have going on sometimes. To be blunt, what we got going on is hella middle class yt & tbh ableist. But hey if that’s your target by all means go forth, comrade. I’ll be w the manic roses in the back 🌹
Ps this isn’t a call out, don’t subtweet me. If y’all can spit your critiques of the left wo anyone suggesting “talk to someone first, you shouldn’t be so publicly critical” ya grl can too.

Critique 👏🏼 that 👏🏼 which 👏🏼 you 👏🏼 love 👏🏼.

I’m in a movement not a church.

Bye 🌹.
