So this is a fair question and I'll try to answer it as best i can. What we eat is deeply political. Not only are our cultural habits and diets rooted in ideology, but our food habits have a direct impact on society, and our food philosophies influence our political biases. https://twitter.com/SharonG/status/1328501520623493120
The Paleo diet is credited as an invention by Walter L. Voegtlin. He was a white supremacist, a eugenicist and probs a Nazi. His book "the Stone Age Diet" directly lifts philosophies from "Natural Eating" propaganda that the Nazis spread. https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/07409710903149744?journalCode=gfof20
Now some paleo supporters have distanced themselves from Voegtlin, but the underlying philosophies of the movement haven't. And the idea that Paleo *isn't* political is actually a new fabrication to push alt-right agendas through the movement. https://www.vice.com/en/article/78wepx/the-alt-rights-favorite-diet
What diet culture does is build a "culture" around food. And often times that culture is extremely toxic. Paleo isn't the only diet embedded in the pseudoscience and politics that came from white supremacy and eugenics, but it is one of most popular, extreme and worrisome.
Following a Paleo diet doesn't make you a Nazi, but it does make you more vulnerable to Nazi propaganda, and more likely to entertain Nazi ideology as something of value and worth.
You can eat whatever you want, but subscribing to a particular diet puts you in a very precarious position politically. The more you identify *as* part of an in-group, the more that group, and the baggage it carries, comes to define who you are and how you affect the world.
I hope that was clear enough, I've done a lot of study and research around this, but I'm by no means an expert. I hope people read this as an opening to go read more about this subject, instead of just shutting it down cause it's uncomfortable. It's really interesting.
And this isn't even mentioning how the over-consumption of meat is destroying the planet lololololol
