1/ The right/left divide. It's way more complicated than anyone thinks. What happens when your elected politicians come together to divide an conquer?

Let's find out a bit more about the IDU.
2/ The organization was created in 1983 as the umbrella organization for the European Democrat Union (EDU) https://www.democrats.eu/en
3/ The EDU "is one of three European wings of the International Democrat Union, along with the European People's Party (EPP) & the Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe (ACRE)."
4/ "Its members include Christian democratic, liberal conservative, and conservative political parties. It is only a nominal sub-entity of the IDU, since it ceased its activities in 2002."
5/ The Caribbean Democrat Union (CDU) and the Asia Pacific Democrat Union (APDU) were also under that umbrella.
6/ Margaret Thatcher, President Bush (sr), Chancellor Helmut Kohl (W Germany) & the Konrad Adenauer Foundation were behind the launch. https://www.nytimes.com/1985/07/27/us/by-any-other-name-conservative.html
7/ "The International Democrat Union says it is ''the most broadly represented international political organization of its kind,'' representing 150 million voters in ''conservative/ moderate'' parties in 31 countries" as of 1985
8/ "To be a member of the I.D.U., Mr. Allen said, a party must qualify as ''mainstream'' conservative. ''We are liberals with a small 'l', the classical liberals, the real liberals, not the so-called liberals of today,'' he said. ''It would be slander to call us right wing.''
9/ Konrad Adenauer Foundation or Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung is a German political party foundation associated with but independent of the centre-right Christian Democratic Union. https://www.kas.de/en/about-us
10/ KAS is associated with but independent of the centre-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU).

Angela Merkel is a member of the CDU
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Democratic_Union_of_Germany
11/ I find it interesting that people who claim to be conservatives or classical liberals act in ways that aren't in keeping with their stated beliefs.
12/ "Prominent among such organizations is the International Republican Institute, National Democratic Institute, Christian Democratic International Center, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung." http://www.wrongkindofgreen.org/tag/konrad-adenauer-stiftung/
13/ "These organizations, ideologically dissimilar as they may claim to be, have a common agenda of entrenching and perpetuating western subjugation of Africa."

Anyway I digress.
14/ KAS "is a member of the Centre for European Studies, the official foundation and think tank of the European People's Party (EPP)"
15/ What is the Centre for European Studies?
The Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies is part of Harvard University (of course)

They provide fellowships with KAS to graduating seniors pursuing masters & research at German universities. https://ces.fas.harvard.edu/opportunities/undergraduates/grants/konrad-adenauer-fellowships-1
16/ What is the European People's Party (EPP): "is a European political party with Christian-democratic, conservative & liberal-conservative member parties. A transnational organization, it is composed of other political parties, not individuals."
17/ So while I see them trying to fold conservatism and Christianity into the fold the only thing I detect thus far is globalism.
18/
You see George HW Bush was a Conservative - yet I see him as one of the biggest catalysts toward the "New World Order"

His role for me is an immediate red flag.
19/ ....and Margaret Thatcher on Global Warming at the UN.

21/ Anyway. Let's see what they have done over the years.
22/

"As Dr Alois Mock declared at the 1983 inauguration of the
International Democrat Union (IDU)‘political ideas have no national frontiers"

https://www.idea.int/sites/default/files/publications/reconnecting-european-political-parties-with-european-union-citizens.pdf
24/ "Today we have an entire global party system: Apart from the two social-democrat organizations, there are the Liberal International (LI, 1947), the Centrist Democrat International (CDI, 1961), the International Democrat Union (IDU, 1983), the Global Greens (GG, 2001)...."
25/ "The Pirate Parties International (PPI, 2010), and other smaller alliances"

"All of them have a president and a standing executive body, periodic party congresses and a political program in which they formulate their visions and goals for the world."
26/ So I have dug deeply enough to have an idea what this is. It's global representation for "free markets" and centre right leaning citizens. Smoke & mirrors IMO
27/ The question is why was Stephen Harper selected as their chairman? It seems he must be in line with the global agenda or this position wouldn't have appealed to him.
28/ Maybe he's a realist and wants to see free market values get represented.

But the real question is where is he? There's been radio silence from him for quite some time.
29/ As someone who represents conservative values in Canada shouldn't Harper have spoken up about Trudeau's antics? Shouldn't he be giving interviews about the reset? Shouldn't he be first in line to fight for Canada?

Anyway just some thoughts. Where is Stephen Harper?
