I fully believe that you can be an introvert/loner and still invest in the collective good and community.
In fact, recognizing autonomy and spatial boundaries is a defining quality of living in community.

Sometimes I think those that cling to the individualistic and therefore capitalist mindset are scared of communal/collective mindsets bc they just fear people being up in your buisness...
I mean ppl already are tho - ask your assigned FBI agent lol

I half joke but part of living in community with ppl is learning the fine balance of minding your business (I.e.respect ppls space and autonomy) and holding them accountable to the social contract established of doing no harm to others.
Doesn’t mean your freedoms are limited.

And I think that’s the biggest struggle even with ppl already living in community (see: communes, ndn country etc). Ppl just like to control and project.
But if we focused on ego work that would self correct to some extent I think.

But instead of us putting in the work and moving towards this goal of personal and communal@liberation we want to stick to what we know and by way of that, want everyone to suffer how we suffer.
The whole thing is toxic. And to me it’s like - why not try spam thing diff.

And traditionally speaking it’s Not really that diff of a concept cause we used to do it.
Do I think traditional means of community were perfect? No. But I think with our collective knowledge we could improve on something that made so much more sense.

Now I do agree that communal living can create toxic dynamics when it comes to abuse - we already struggle with abuser accountability.
But that’s where I think we as an informed collective can improve and transform the approach to that.

This is a series of musings and rants to unpack but my point is...
If we can pull from innate communal living techniques and fine tune them to align with autonomous and accountability values I truly feel so much could shift in our society.

Especially for the introverts. I’m very much an introvert - I need A LOT of alone time and people drain me.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t or don’t want too live in community. It just means my boundaries need to be respected which is needed in any healthy dynamic.

We all need community. We need shared resources.
And bc of this investing in the collective good no matter your walk of life is worth it.
