So I’ve been thinking a lot about the “do we reason with them or nor” arguments over magas. I’m a pretty hard no reason believer and here’s why.

These people are not going to change and they aren’t mad about policy. They are mad about human rights. Why tf would you want to waste
Your time with them?

So it’s your parents? So what. Screw them too. Why would you let your child sit at a table with people who actively vote against their best interest?

They will grow up one day and hate them for it so might as well save them the pain of loving them and
Being heartbroken.

Seems like we need to break the cycle for our children bc otherwise they are going to feel as hurt as we are with all of this. Right?

I’ll be damned if I’m marching and speaking out only to let my kids be around a maga every weekend.
Plus, if people aren’t punished for their actions how do you expect anyone to change? Why would they? They still get everything they want. They get to support the racist and have a relationship with their children and grandchildren and their life literally never changes
Instead they just keep proving to the world they they don’t give af about poc, women, lgbtq+, etc. but what do they care? They are happy and have everyone with them that they love for Christmas. They don’t have to worry about their children being shot by the police
This is for your friendships too.

I understand this probably seems mean. Libs aren’t supposed to be the mean guy but we aren’t supposed to tolerate it either and it feels like by letting them stay at the table you are tolerating it.
Basically I’m just thinking a lot about my decisions and reasonings especially with the holidays coming up and talking it out online.
