THREAD - We're in the Alamo
I've caught a lot of flack for my stance on the future of our country. There seems to be a belief that because I don't have a rosy view for America I have somehow given up. I'd like to clarify my thoughts. 1/
I've caught a lot of flack for my stance on the future of our country. There seems to be a belief that because I don't have a rosy view for America I have somehow given up. I'd like to clarify my thoughts. 1/
I believe that our nation is going through a major transformation. At every level our government and society is veering hard to the left at a rate unknown in our past. 2/
More and more people rely on the government for food, housing and medicine. The government is glad to expand its role in our lives, control our safety, what we can do on our property, when and where we can go for recreation and socializing. 3/
Our society is tossing out the morals and ethics our country was built on. Personal responsibility is no longer a requirement to be a successful member of our community. 4/
Conservatism is waning while liberalism is growing. I meant what I said several weeks ago when I said I was considering counseling my boys not to have children. I don't think any of us will recognize America in 20 years. It will have changed that much and for the worse. 5/
But that does not mean I've given up. I will fight as I always have. I will educate my children in the ways of success that built this great nation. I will continue to be involved in my community and vote for people and policies that will make us stronger. 6/
I think in the end we are out numbered and short of civil war or a major natural disaster of extinction level we are going to lose.
But I will do down fighting. The men at the Alamo knew they were going to die but they fought on and so will I. 7/

I may go down in the end but I'll take as many of the bastards with me as I can. 8/
