It's hard to quantify the disappointment in this year's Central European draft class, thus far. @DobberProspects

Lorenzo Canonica and Attilio Biasca are 12th and 13th in points per game amongst draft year SUI U20-Elit players. Noah Meier needs considerable work in his own end and Pete's Import pick Brian Zanetti has seemingly taken a large step... sideways?
Hänelt is oddly being fast tracked, Chanton fails to excite, Niedenz is trapped in the DNL (which history suggests does not bode well) and Klaus Heigl desperately needs a promotion. The CSB C list was filled with interesting albeit somewhat surprising names.
A region once known for goaltenders is coming up short there, as well. With all due respect to draft hopefuls such as Nikita Quapp and Lucas Rötheli, of course. Central Europe appears devoid of it's next Gerber, Greiss or Grubauer, yet again.
The stars are kids who are likely unheralded. Guys like Joel Henry, Louis Robin, Timotée Schaller, Liekit Reichle and arguably even big-bodied Bennet Roßmy. Overagers Simon Knak, Senna Peeters, Florian Elias and 2020 born Dman Janis Jérôme Moser.
As North Americans report to camp and leagues commence across their continent, you have to wonder if Central Europeans missed out on an opportunity to embrace the spotlight. For some reason, our stars lost ground on those who were idle.
