Here's my periodic reminder that I paid off all my student loan debt "the right way": roughly $28,000 in 3.5 years, all while making between $16k-$28k annually after taxes

And I support loan forgiveness.
My student loans gave me financial anxiety I am still dealing with. Forgiveness is a gift to other people in many ways, financial and emotional.
My partner and I have paid off about $99K in student loan debt.
We don't own property.
We don't have fat retirement accounts.

Student loan forgiveness for us would have meant that $99K could have gone into the economy and pushed out personal finances into a better place
People who are salty about others "getting a free ride" need to understand 2 Very Important Things:

1- someone else getting a win doesn't mean you are losing
2- All the money currently being spent on loans could be put elsewhere that would benefit so many MORE people, including your salty ass
Say I took my 28k in debt +interest payments and bought a house.
Who benefits? Me. The seller. My agent. Seller's agent. The city I live in. The school in my district. People selling furniture and home decor. Lowe's.

Who benefitted from my 28k in reality? Navient. Just Navient.
