Klaus Schwab, German economist and executive chairman or the World Economic Forum wrote a book in 2005 called the 4th industrial revolution

1st industrial revolution - explosion of manafacture

2nd industrial revolution - explosion of industry

3rd industrial revolution - explosion of nuclear energy and economies

4th industrial revolution - explosion of artificial intelligence

He wrote that the 4th industrial revolution won't be accepted by man due to the implications it involves, mainly being the disintegration of jobs.

However he wrote that this revolution is inevitable in the near future and there are 3 main crises that would push us down that road

1. World War
2. Climate Change Emergency
3. Global Pandemic

Each one of these would cause the world economies to crash.

This crash would act as the catalyst to move into the 4th industrial revolution. It would be 'necessary' at that stage and not a choice
